چکیده

-Ten commercial lectins were semi-quantitatively analyzed for their metal speciesby'-inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometer. Calcium, silicon, zinc and manganese, which had been found in a lectin purified from a tree trunk, were especially analyzed. Calcium was abundant in the lectins obtained from dicotyledonous source, some of which also contained zinc and/or manganese. Calcium ions in these lectins were discussed in relation to their physiological roles. Silicon was detected in all of the lectins analyzed. Some of the lectins were phosphorylated, suggesting participation of protein kinases for their processing.

Heavy metal contamination in soil and some medicinal plant species in Ahangaran lead-zinc mine, Iran

Ahangaran lead-zinc mining area located in the west part of Iran is a mountainous region. In this study, medical plants and soils from 3 different sites in this area were collected in spring 2012. Soil and medical plants were analyzed for heavy metals [lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd) and copper (Cu)] concentrations using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) optical emission spectrometer (Varian ...

Field study on Re and heavy metal phytoextraction and phytomining potentials by native plant species growing at Sarcheshmeh copper mine tailings, SE Iran

In the present work, we aimed to focus on the identification and characterization of the heavy metal-tolerant plant species growing spontaneously at the tailings site of the Sarcheshmeh copper mine, south of Iran. Our aim was to find the plant species that were potentially useful for phytoextraction purposes. The concentrations of As, Cu, Mo, Ni, Zn, and Re were analyzed in soil as well as in t...

Chemical speciation of metals in sediment and their bioaccumulation in fish on three rivers around Dhaka City, Bangladesh

As a forward step to understand the metal bioaccumulation in fish species, a study of trace metal speciation of sediment was achieved. Trace metals were measured in sediments and two fish species, Heteropneustes fossilis and Trichogaster fasciata by using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). Abundance of total trace metals in sediments varied in the following decreasing order:...

A sensitive and quantitative element-tagged immunoassay with ICPMS detection.

We report a set of novel immunoassays in which proteins of interest can be detected using specific element-tagged antibodies. These immunoassays are directly coupled with an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS) to quantify the elemental (in this work, metal) component of the reacted tagged antibodies. It is demonstrated that these methods can detect levels of target proteins as ...

Cobalamin speciation using reversed-phase micro-high-performance liquid chromatography interfaced to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry

Micro-high-performance liquid chromatography interfaced to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was optimized for the determination and separation of a mixture of cobalt containing species. Four cobalamin species (cyanocobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, methylcobalamin, and 5V-deoxyadenosylcobalamin) representing the various forms of vitamin B12 as well as the harmful corrinoid analogue cobin...
